About

Michael Brennan

I've been practicing law since 2010 with a focus on estate planning and transactional business law. I currently live in northwest Chicagoland with my wife Emilie and our three children.

When I left corporate America to open a solo law firm, I wanted to create something that let me live the life I wanted to live while doing the work I was passionate about. Representing young families who just want the best for their kids or entrepreneurial-minded individuals with a great idea, a lot of drive, and a little luck is tremendously fulfilling to me, because that's who I am.

I never liked the stuffiness of corporate offices or the outdated American "you work until you're old and then you die" mentality. I sought to do something different with my professional life. Building a virtual law firm from the ground up gave me the ability to enjoy my work while still being able to enjoy my life. I never wanted to look back and wish I had made it to that school play or seen my child's first steps while I was away on business.  I strive every day to reflect those values in the way I represent my clients.

As has been said, life happens while we are busy making other plans. My hope is to take the burden of those plans off your shoulders so you can actually enjoy living your life.

The Virtual Attorney Difference

2020 forced the world to reinvent ways to do business. I've been doing that since 2010.

01

Value

Using available technology - from remote video conferences on Zoom to cloud-based client portals and e-signatures - means that I can keep overhead low.

The firm is not overburdened by expensive office space and support staff salaries. The result is that I can save you money by delivering high quality legal services at superb value.

02

Convenience

I work virtually with my clients, which means it's easier to schedule a meeting in the evening after work or on a weekend while the kids are napping.

There's no commute, and you don't have to take time off of work to come sit across from me at a conference table as we discuss your needs.

03

Accessibility

You don't have to wonder if you'll actually be able to get through to your attorney, because when you reach out, I'm the one picking up the phone, answering an email or having a conversation with you by text message.

I'm a solo practitioner, so not only am I the one providing you legal advice, but I'm also the one doing the billing, marketing, and listening to your feedback.

If you have a question or issue about anything at all, know that I am ready and willing to work with you so that your expectations are exceeded.

04

A Lifelong Relationship

Let's face it, our years here are finite. But that doesn't mean our relationship has to be short-lived.

I don't want you to have to track down a new attorney in a couple years. I expect to be there for you and your family along your life journey no matter what the world throws your way.

My ultimate goal is to deliver an experience that leaves you comfortable approaching me any time down the road - whether you've recently gone through a significant life change or simply want to review your current plan for reassurance that it's still accomplishing your goals.
